Our Stay At A Bohemian Airbnb in Austin, Texas

Everytime I go to Austin I always have fun - it’s kind of as simple as that. I first went for my 30th birthday and given it’s a been a few years since then (I won’t tell you how many), I’ve now been a handful of times.

I like to stay in different neighborhoods since each has so much to offer - for this trip we stayed in the more residential Zilker neighborhood. We loved the house’s modern yet relaxing finishes and soaking up the sun on the upstairs roof deck.

Where We Eat & Drink

There’s no shortage of great eats in the city of Austin. When you go this should be one of your highest priorities to try the bars and restaurants. Here’s a recap of our favorites:

Restaurants

The Peacock (At the Austin Proper Hotel): A vibey dinner spot the mediterranean food is great - we loved the fresh pea hummus.

Iron Works BBQ: You’re not visiting Austin if you’re not eating BBQ. I keep it simple with pulled pork and mac and cheese as a side is a must for me.

Comedor: This sleek and modern Mexican restaurant off of 5th street has it all in a very cool indoor/outdoor space. Get the bone marrow tacos and if you’re brave, the mezcal shot that comes with it.

Cocktails

Garage: Yes you really drink craft cocktails in a parking garage and it actually feels cool. It can be kind of hard to locate at first but if you find yourself wandering in a parking garage you’re close, keep going.
